This 395 square foot facility houses sample preparation areas, including a fume hood, and equipment for sample preparation for light and electron microscopy. The facility is supervised by a histology specialist, Jing Huang, who is responsible for maintaining all equipment, for training investigators and personnel in the use of the equipment. Huang also provides assistance in specialized tissue fixation, sectioning and staining procedures. Investigators have the option of either conducting procedures themselves or having Jing Huang perform them.

The Histology laboratory is fully equipped for paraffin histology, including automated processing, embedding, sectioning and staining. Facilities are also available for the embedding and sectioning of frozen specimens.
