The Institute has developed and manages multiple initiatives designed to inspire young people to enter health care careers, while also providing professional development and continuing education programs for current health care professionals.

HOSA

HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health occupation instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation and recognition exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult and collegiate students enrolled in HSE programs. HOSA is 100% health care!

K-12 Programs and High School Campus Tours

Today, careers in health care go far beyond physicians and nurses. The health care field is rapidly growing and includes more than 250 different professions, and its the goal of the KU Medical Center Area Health Education Center to help introduce the many different career choices to rural Kansas students through our various programs. Whatever your interest, there is a place for you in health care.

KU Medical Center Educational Experience

The KEE program provides students and those in the workforce with non-curricular educational opportunities in both clinical and research settings. The benefits of the program range from learning about careers in health care to gaining research experience as a preliminary to applying for admission to a formal academic program.

The University of Kansas Medical Center Continuing Education and Professional Development is Kansas’ leading provider of nationally accredited educational programs directly related to the top practice concerns of physicians. With more than a century of pioneering leadership in continuing medical education, our focus remains on progressing medical knowledge to improve practice performance, patient outcomes and interprofessional health care delivery.
