Facilities

The Kansas City, Kansas, campus straddles the north and south sides of 39th Street from State Line Road to Rainbow Boulevard. The 46 buildings on 41 acres provide excellent facilties for education and research.

Facilities Management provides around-the-clock care for more than 3 million square feet of campus building space.

Health Education Building

The newest building on campus added 170,000 feet of space for classrooms, labs, simulation practice and meeting rooms. Another 6,000 square feet was constructed as a bridge over 39th Street specifically as student-life and study space.

JayDoc Free Clinic

Grassroots funding supports this free, student-run clinic for the uninsured and underinsured populations of Greater Kansas City. The clinic is located in Kansas City’s Crossroads District.

Scholars, students and faculty will find the Dykes Library provides needed resources in science and medicine. Library staff also work closely with the libraries of the University of Kansas in Lawrence via interlibrary loan.

Designed unlike any other research facility in the country, the 82,400-square-foot building, which was donated by the Hall Family Foundation, provides space, resources and manpower to best accommodate trial participants and researchers.

KU Medical Center students have access to multiple on-campus clinical locations, including The University of Kansas Hospital (ranked best hospital in the state) and additional facilities in Westwood and Fairway, Kansas, accessible by shuttle.
